Vikkeland ("we", "our", or "the App") is developed and operated by Alessio Salvadorini (Fluxit), a sole proprietorship registered in Finland. We are committed to protecting your privacy and treating your dog’s data with care and transparency. This Privacy Policy outlines how information is collected, used, and safeguarded when using the Vikkeland mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

A. Precise Location Data (GPS)

  • Foreground & Background GPS Tracking: Vikkeland collects precise location coordinates while you are actively tracking a dog walk session.
  • Purpose: This location data is strictly required to calculate walk distance, plot route lines, and determine the closed perimeter that expands your dog's in-game kingdom territory.
  • User Control: Location tracking only runs when initiated by you via the "Start Walk" button and ceases immediately when you end the session. We do not track location in the background when no walk is active.
  • Privacy of Home (HQ): Your dog's Castle/HQ location is kept strictly private to your account and is never displayed publicly or shared with other players.

B. Dog Profile Information

  • Dog Name & Avatar: Provided by you to personalize your dog’s kingdom experience.
  • Dog Login ID & PIN: A human-friendly ID and security PIN generated so multiple devices or family members can securely access and contribute to the same dog's kingdom.

C. Technical & Diagnostic Logs

Standard anonymous diagnostic logs, performance metrics, and crash reports may be processed to ensure application stability and resolve bugs.

2. Third-Party Infrastructure Services

We rely on selected third-party service providers to deliver core app functionality:

  • MapTiler: Delivers map tiles for displaying the game map. Tile queries do not contain personally identifiable user profiles.
  • Supabase: Provides encrypted database and cloud storage for dog profiles, walk statistics, and territory polygons.
  • RevenueCat & Google Play: Handles subscription entitlements and in-app purchase validation. Financial transactions are securely processed directly by Google Play In-App Billing; we never receive or store your payment card details.

3. Data Sharing & Monetization

We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data or GPS location history. Data is shared exclusively with the aforementioned technical infrastructure providers strictly to deliver the App’s features.

4. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

Your data is retained for as long as your dog profile remains active. In accordance with applicable privacy laws (including GDPR), you have the right to request access to or complete deletion of your account, dog profile, and associated walk histories at any time through the app settings or by contacting us directly.

5. Children’s Privacy

Vikkeland does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13.
